Healthy food for kids means that the children eat different varieties of foods having vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrate, and fats. It provides all the nutrition to the child growing body and helps in development and learning.This is the age where our body builds up, develop the immune system and muscles.so it is high time to aware of the importance of healthy food.

Fruits – This comes as the first choice of kids as they are tasty. Kids eat these without any resistance from them. These are considered a good source of minerals and vitamins. They also provide fiber which is good for bowel movement. Fruits are good for skin, eyes, and hairs. On a weekly basis, try to give all the colors of fruits like – Apple, Orange, Berries, Mango, and Banana. So on weekly basis kids growing body consumes all the required nutrients from the fruit. We can give fruit juices and smoothies also, but remember to give from raw fruits and not the packaged drinks.
Vegetables – And here comes the list where we get all the resistance from the kids and most of the kids do not like this. So here we should be creative and provide vegetables with the option of soup, murabba or in the form of salad. Green leafy vegetable, Turnip, carrot, green beans, peas, tomato, potato, broccoli are a good example. They also provide fiber, vitamins, and minerals to the grownup kids.
Grains – Foods like chapatti, bread, pasta, rice corn comes under this category. These provide the carbohydrate to the kids’ body and keep rotating the dishes for a week so that kids maintain their interest. They are the most important as they provide the most of the energy and keeps the kid’s tummy full for longer period of time. It keeps the bowel movement under control.
Dairy Products – It includes the products like milk, yogurt, cheese etc. They provide the calcium, potassium, vitamin D, and protein. It does not have any taste but include Indian jaggery and give to kids. The combination is very nutrition as it gives the benefit of milk and gives the proper amount of iron to grownups.
Proteins – Foods like meat, fish, eggs, beans, lentils, chicken peas are a good example of this. Most of the kids like it, so provide them on a daily basis they provide the required amount of protein to kids body. The primary function of a protein is to build up the muscles and brain development.
Nuts – Nuts provides the good source of fatty acids which are very important for the kid’s body and brain development. These must include Walnuts, Almonds, Flaxseeds, Cashews, and Pistachios etc.
Besides the above categories, Water must be included daily. The quantity is not defined but drink lot of glasses of water is a must.
